Anxiety disorder cure. Is there one? You might well ask. A cure that doesn’t involve a cocktail of medication?
I can tell you a drug free treatment is definitely possible. It’s not exactly a “cure” but as near as you will get. You don’t get to take a spoon full of medicine and it’s miraculously cured. But you do get to stop them for good.
I suffered panic & anxiety attacks for a few years after a bad motorcycle spill. I used every possible drug to stop them. I got very little benefit but worse was that I knew any benefit I did get would cease when I came off the drugs.
This is the bad thing about drugs and panic attacks. If the drugs do help, that help is lost when you have to stop the drugs. Any decent doctor won’t let you take drugs for any length of time.
A worrying thought, but you will have to go ‘cold turkey’ at some point in your future. And you end up back where you started all those months ago. And you know they will hit you as bad, if not worse than ever.
I think we agree that the best answer is a treatment for social anxiety that doesn’t rely on any medication. And I know there is one out there, because I use it all the time. I have total control over my anxiety attacks now.
I suffered random anxiety attacks that wrecked my life. I mention “random” but mine aren’t all random, I know when I’m going to have one. If I’m in a crowd of anything more than about three or four people. That will trigger an attack.
It got so bad with me I would run for my life if I got near a small group of people. I realised (in my mind) how stupid I was being. Nonetheless, when I could feel panic taking hold I ran.
I did an awful lot of research and spent what seemed like a life time trying to find a permanent cure. When the wait was over it was definitely worth it. Strangely though none of the doctors I saw mentioned a treatment like this.
You can keep on searching and hoping and in the mean time taking the drugs. Or start to do what I do every time I feel an attack coming on. I simply brush it aside and get on with my day.
